Barrier-free leisure time
Our Parking and leisure centre systems division is continuing the company’s philosophy of innovation in systems. The latest development is a new machine that has been developed to remove the barriers to access to leisure centres for people with physical disabilities.
Scheidt & Bachmann is one of the first manufacturers in this field who is able to provide a machine that provides easy to use controls for accessibility and introduces state of the art features like bar code ticket, chip coin and smartcard processing in one device.
The focus of the design of the machine is easy access to all parts of the user interface. An example is the use of large icon’s and fonts on an extra high contrast touchscreen to make it easy to use for those with sight problems.
The first of these machines was installed and commissioned in the "Sonnenhof Therme" in Bad Saulgau in March 2011.
The experience gained in successfully developing and introducing the leisure centre machine is now being used to develop similar easily accessible machines for parking facilities.
