Maintenance

FareGo’s service starts with the front line devices that are essential to any fare collection system. Whether it’s checking and cleaning or fault rectification, the trained team, supported by the remote diagnostics capability of the FareGo systems can ensure that the devices remain in operation.

Information on spares, stock levels and past maintenance and repair history are all maintained in the service systems, ensuring that Scheidt & Bachmann customer’s have a complete overview of their system at all times.

Spare Parts and Module Administration

As you would expect from Scheidt & Bachmann, the history of every device is maintained in the company product planning system. This includes details of every repair and service throughout the life of the device can be used to identify design improvements or to optimise stock levels of spare parts. This means that Scheidt & Bachmann individual customers benefit from the experience gained from the global delivery and support of our systems.

Preventive Maintenance

On the basis of our years of experience with the aim of keeping availability of the devices at the highest level, we have worked on a concept for preventative maintenance.

The cycle of checking and cleaning different components is coordinated for the individual devices. The aim of this preventative maintenance is to minimise the failure of individual components and reduce the number of service assignments. We take over planning in advance for the next quarter, as a minimum, and perform all necessary work.

Fixing things before they go wrong is always a good way to keep a vital tool like a revenue system fully operational. Scheidt & Bachmann, with its long experience in designing, building, installing and supporting systems has been able to develop a programme of preventative maintainance that does just that. Every different device has its own cycle of checking and cleaning to minimise the risk of failure and the work is planned in advance for the next quarter so the operator is assured of the revenue system’s peak performance.

Software Maintenance

In the complex world of the modern fare collection and revenue management system, maintaining the vital software and ensuring that it is up to date is essential. Scheidt & Bachmann provides its customers with a full service that includes Help Desk staff to assist with queries and deal with problems and well as provision of regular updates and, where agreed, upgrades to keep the system performing at peak efficiency.

Most importantly, the software agreement means that our customers can plan the cost to their business well in advance thanks to the flat rate approach that Scheidt & Bachmann offers.

Repair

In the event of any faults on front end devices, Scheidt & Bachmann helpdesk employees are available to help. In order to keep the device downtimes as low as possible and minimise loss of profits, all fault reports received are processed within the shortest period and, if possible, addressed by remote access. In the event of other fault reports, a local service technician is arranged. All repair work is completed by carrying out test routines in order to ensure that the front end device can be taken back into sales operation with all components.

The implementation of repair work is documented in the repair reports we provide.

Because it is difficult to predict repair work, we offer our customers invoicing with flat-rate fee in order to be able to keep a full overview of costs.

Even the very best equipment can sometimes experience a problem. Scheidt & Bachmann has a team of people based in country whose expertise means that whatever the problem, a local service technician is available and the Help Desk team is always ready to help.

Whenever a device is repaired – and we do that as quickly as possible to get the device back into service earning revenue – it is of course tested to ensure it functions properly before it is re-installed. A full report is always available and, along with other service functions, repair work can be covered by a single, fixed annual fee so that long term budget management is easy.
