Scheidt & Bachmann opens the doors at Cologne exhibition

It is a special pleasure for Scheidt & Bachmann to welcome visitors to the FSB in Cologne (Germany).
It is no exaggeration when we say: This year, no visitor of the aquanale, SOLARIA or FSB (International Exhibition for Outdoor, Sport and Bath Facilities) will bypass Scheidt & Bachmann. Right on time for the opening of this trio of exhibitions, the exhibition access control system from Scheidt & Bachmann is installed and operational.

Access is controlled by the newly developed turnstile XTS35-K. The integrated card reader and processing unit XMR30-Omni verifies the barcode cards and controls the motor-driven three-arm turnstile ("Tripod").
The card reading process is designed for maximum comfort, reliability, and speed. The barcode cards are read freely, completely independent of direction and location, which enables efficient visitor throughput. Definite, clearly visible symbols and light signals show if the card that was read is valid or invalid. For valid cards, the motor-driven Tripod is immediately activated to allow passage of one individual.
The quality seal of TÜV Rhineland confirms the high safety standard of the turnstile, which is affected by many details.  In addition to the turnstiles, the point-of-sale system and ticket management system were also developed jointly by S&B and its partners for exhibitions.
The easy to handle interfaces of the ticket management application are java-based and browser-ready. The linked SAP system of the Cologne exhibition transmits the exhibition master file data as well as current visitor data before and during the exhibition to the ticket management system. Copies of these data are then transmitted to the point-of-sale workstations to enable them to operate completely independently in the event of network failures. The fully configurable touch screens at the point-of-sale workstations enable fast and comfortable access to all important functions. Of course, cashless payment of exhibition tickets as well as other items using credit cards is possible. Clearing of the transactions is carried out over an S&B server.
At the end of each day, the activity and accounting data are compiled at the server level and transmitted to the SAP system.
The Cologne exhibition can justifiably claim to now own one of the most modern exhibition access control systems in the world.
