Components for the detection of vehicles

The axle counting is integral part of the ZSB 2000 logic. It is not built up as separate functional unit but as "software“. The sensorics needed for the axle detection thus places only the information "axle and direction“ at the disposal of the ZSB 2000. The evaluation of the information "axle“ is safely performed in the control level by generating appropriate sections. The transmission of the information between sensor and interlocking system is made via the CAN bus (Controller Area Network).

The axle counter consists of:

  • Axle sensor AS
  • Axle sensor evaluation module for interlocking, ASAStw module

Axle sensor in the track

The axle sensor consists of two small inductive loops which are integrated in a compact housing being screwable to the rail and which due to their dimensions are evaluated in a way that single axles are detected.

ASA interlocking module

The ASAStw module evaluates the axle sensor transmits the information on all detected axles with the appertaining direction via the connected CAN bus. The axle counting takes place in the ZSB control level.

Axle sensor

The axle detector consists of a robust and waterproof plastic housing with a universal mounting device to be clamped to the rail.
