In 1989, Scheidt & Bachmann broke totally new ground within the field of signalling technology in starting the development of the fully computer-controlled level crossing management BUES 2000. Since that time, more than 1000 BUES 2000 systems have been installed in Germany and abroad. Approvals by, among others, the Federal Railway Authority are in hand for all types of application. This level crossing control system is laying down new standards with its comprehensive bus concept and the manifold diagnosis facilities. With the interlocking system ZSB2000 Scheidt & Bachmann has realised a future-oriented control and safety system which has been developed on the basis of the BUES2000.
Apart from the delivery and installation of the signalling systems and the project engineering of the PT II required for this purpose, Scheidt & Bachmann, acting as main contractor, already started in the early nineties with the construction of level crossing systems. From that moment on, also the performance of planning services has to be regarded as an element of the scope of services provided by Scheidt & Bachmann in addition to the supervision of constructional works and coordination of all crafts (underground engineering, telecommunications, power supply etc.).
Especially the DB AG project ”BÜ 750” (reconstruction of the level crossing installations in the newly-formed German states) enabled Scheidt & Bachmann to gain extensive experience in this field. Within the scope of this project, nearly 100 level crossing installations have been set up with Scheidt & Bachmann as main contractor. The supervision of the constructional works and the coordination of all crafts was always taken over by S&B employees. The same applies for the various VDE large-scale projects by the PBDE (Planungsgesellschaft Bahnbau Deutsche Einheit).
Since 1999, qualified employees of Scheidt & Bachmann have also been performing the necessary planning services.
Scheidt & Bachmann has received certification in the DB AG prequalification procedure and is approved to perform planning services. As a reference we may further point out that we have been certified approval as a Q1 supplier by the DB AG and in accordance with ISO 9001 by Lloyd's Register.
