The Retail Sales Terminal (RST) is a Point of Sales solution which has been applied in our MBTA Boston project firstly. The RST workplace consists of an integrated magnetic card processing unit and a thermo printer. Furthermore the hardware comprises a Poseidon-Panel PC with an integrated 12.1" touch display, an external Smart Card reader as well as a double-spaced customer display and a receipt printer. The range of application of the Retail Sales Terminal encloses the sales of tickets and Smart Cards, the charge of Smart Cards with products or cash value as well as the indication of stored data on tickets and Smart Cards. The handling of the RST guarantees uncomplicated and easy operation. Long training periods are unnecessary. Via online connection the Retail Sales Terminal is always automatically updated concerning new tariffs or other relevant sales data.

The newly-designed POScom POS unit has compact, user-friendly and space-saving construction as well as extensive functional and technical features. Easy access to all system components is available by opening the upper housing. All internal wiring is interchangeable. After exchanging sub-units no adjustment is required. In the event of a power failure the POScom's integrated accumulator ensures the correct and safe completion of all running programs and a clean shut-down.
