The On-Board Validator has been developed for entrance and exit control by the use of Smart Cards. It is constructed for on-board installations in vehicles and perfectly fits to the conditions of an on-board area. The Smart Card Validator is based on computer systems, which are customised to the requirements of modern ticketing systems. The performance is high enough to process prepaid Smart Cards as well. The Validator is available with a 6,4"TFT-display (MBTA-Project) as well as with a 2x20 signs LC-display (Yorcard-Project). The Validators are normally mounted to the handrails (up to 40mm diameter) in the vehicles, but they can also be mounted on stainless steel pillars which are fixed on the floor through mounting plates. Different pillar lengths can be chosen so that children and wheelchair users are also able to operate the Validator easily |

The new ticket printer "FareMaster" |
The newly developed Scheidt & Bachmann ticket printer "FareMaster" summarises many years of experience and the creation of mobile fare management systems in regards to modern demands of the transport services. The FareMaster is developed for the application on buses; however, it can also be used in stationary sales places. A modular construction of the hardware and software, integrated into a compact and ergonomic case, allows a flexible adaptation to the individually required functionalities. To match the operators’ demands a 10.4" touch screen is used as a shop assistant display. Thus it is easy to adapt different fare systems to the user interface without extensive programming. |

The Farebox is a miniature Fare Vending Machine designed for buses and trolleys. Sleek and rugged, it allows customer to pay by coin, tokens, bills, magnetic swipe tickets, stored value tickets and or smart cards. The bus or trolley driver also has a display/control console that allows them to manage the fare, zone, patron category, etc. The driver can also view bills/banknotes that are presented for payment into the Farebox that the Farebox considers suspicious and then accept or reject them. At the end of a shift when the driver returns to the garage, all of the transaction data is then downloaded through a secure wireless network. This provides the Transit Authority to verify the shift’s transactions match the revenue that is stored in the Farebox’s vaults.
