Scheidt & Bachmann at the InnoTrans 2010 in Berlin

InnoTrans homepageThe international trade fair for transport technology “InnoTrans” takes place at the Berlin exhibition grounds from September 21th to 24th. As in previous years, the Signalling systems and Fare Collection systems divisions of Scheidt & Bachmann will have a corporate booth at the exhibition. Scheidt & Bachmann will be presenting innovative products and integrated system solutions at the booth.

One of the highlights for the Fare collection systems business division will be the introduction of the comprehensive and modular service portfolio. The visitors will be able to get a detailed overview of all services that are now available. The Scheidt & Bachmann approach is based on modules so that the customer can select what is best. Each customer’s service package is individually tailored to their requirements to deliver both the highest availability of the devices and a smooth operation of the entire system at optimised costs.

New subsidiary established in Poland
AVISTAIn July 2009 we took over the Polish IT company AVISTA and reinforced our presence in the Polish market to enhance our operations in Eastern Europe.
After three years of activity in Poland we have finally found the ideal partner with comprehensive market experience. AVISTA had already equipped the majority of the Polish transportation companies with booking office system hard- plus software and is securely established in the market for over 30 years. Though their product portfolio was very limited.

New subsidiary founded in Canada

With the foundation of our new subsidiary "Scheidt & Bachmann Canada" near Toronto we have taken an important step to develop into the North American market.

Currently we are implementing our first Canadian fare collection system for West Coast Express who operates rail services in the area of Vancouver. These days our stationary ticket vending machines will be installed and taken into service.

 

 
Scheidt & Bachmann has been awarded with the PAAC contract
Skyline of PittsburghScheidt & Bachmann Fare collections division has recently been unanimously awarded a complete system-wide modernisation and Smart Card implementation for the the Port Authority of Allegheny County (PAAC), in western Pennsylvania. PAACprovides approximately 220,000 daily riders and 65 million riders annually.
This is accomplished by 183 bus routes, 5 rail routes within a 775 square-mile area of Pittsburgh. The fleet is supported by 861 buses, 48 mini-buses, 83 light rail vehicles and the Monongahela Incline.

New subsidiary in Ireland
Bilding of Scheidt & Bachmann Ireland The new facility located in Dublin, is undergoing a full fit out to bring the operations in Ireland in line with those of the other Scheidt & Bachmann subsidiaries. Facilities include sales, technical and service support across Scheidt & Bachmann’s full range of FCSproducts and solutions. The new subsidiary named Scheidt & Bachmann (Ireland)Limited is responsible for providing solutions and support to customers based in Ireland in addition to providing significant resources available to new and potential customers through the already established network.

Schweizerische Bundesbahnen announced Scheidt & Bachmann as Supplier of the Year 2008!

The 4th Suppliers’ Day of the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (Swiss Railways) took place in Bern on 21 November 2008. As part of this event the best suppliers of the year have been honoured. The coveted award has been rewarded to companies who had proven an outstanding performance in terms of quality, innovation and reliability. As Swiss Railways’ new supplier for Ticket Vending Machines, Scheidt & Bachmann participated for the first time. This developed to have a perfect ending for us as we were chosen to be the Best Supplier – Operating Resources. Our “commitment and” our “readiness to cooperate” were rated highly commendable. Nevertheless we could not have achieved this great success without the excellent partnership with the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen who are a professional and well structured contractual partner.

Repeat order from Warsaw

FAA-2000/TS in Warsaw

The delivery of 100 stationary ticket vending machines for the greater Warsaw area has successfully started. During on site inspections, the responsible managers of Mennica Polska S.A gained detailed impressions of the high quality of Scheidt & Bachmann machines. The accurate and quick installation convinced them as well. These positive impressions motivated our satisfied customer to assign an additional purchase order about 60 ticket vending machines. The delivery will start in the 1st quarter of 2009.
